As part of our submission process to local & national film festivals, I created a suite of marketing materials to promote the film.

These materials included a poster, teaser trailer, website, and social media posts.

After having spent countless hours writing and re-writing what was originally a 9-page script and expanding it into a 25-page script, my creative partner Ben Daniels and I were ready to assemble a crew of passionate creatives and craftspeople to realize our dream of making a film of our own.

The film follows Isaac, a graduate student studying political rhetoric & propaganda. While on a weekend away to focus on writing his thesis, he stumbles across a “group meeting” led by the charismatic yet menacing Dalton Sturgess. Sturgess warns of the dangers of “progress”, blaming government officials and hints at violent plans to disrupt their “forward-thinking policies”. As Isaac attempts to leave, he is noticed by the leader and his group, and coerced to stay by Sturgess and his cunning wife Sybil. Seeing an opportunity to gain real-world experience with the kind of figures he has been writing about, Isaac stays. he then finds himself in increasingly tense, bizarre, and even flirtatious interactions with both Dalton and Sybil, leading to an explosive revelation.
We self-funded the production, including raising funds to finish the film via GoFundMe, and were able to complete the film in Spring 2023.

I'm incredibly proud of the finished film, and I am so thankful for the experience of working with a group of like-minded professionals who came together with a united goal - to make something unique and special.

I began working on this short film script back in 2019, with the intent to submit a 7-10 minute short to the Nantucket Film Festival. My creative partner Ben Daniels, a resident of the island, had shared the experiences he had working at the festival and thought it would be a fun and challenging exercise to produce a film of our own for the shorts contest. While Ben is consistently working within the film and commercial production industry, this would be my first foray into the filmmaking world, so we wanted to start small. we had a completed 9-page script, had scouted locations, and were just about to crew up for the shoot when something unexpected happened...

You guessed it, a global pandemic. Obviously, we set aside our project for the foreseeable future, but after the initial fears and anxieties passed I couldn't help but take the hours of extra free time on my hands and dive head first into re-working the script. What started as a 9-page, 2-scene short turned into a 12, 15, 18, 21, and ultimately a 25-page short with 4 locations, 10 scenes, and a hell of a lot more work to be done to get it off the ground.

I was lucky enough to be able to consult friends and industry connections along the way to hone in on the themes and better define the characters over the roughly 18 months of on-and-off writing. I can't thank them enough for their contributions, their sometimes necessary critical feedback, and most of all their commitment of time and care to mine and Ben's project.
