Around the World in 80 Films

As a gift for a family member looking to engage with global cinema, I put together this 5x5 booklet that lists some of the seminal works from the major film-producing nations around the globe.

What started as a simple list of films to watch became a much more involved project - as is my usual inclination, I went a bit overboard and spent a solid 12 hrs putting this together, including pulling hi-res images, gathering 10 films per nation/territory, and writing short descriptions of each area's filmmaking culture and style.

It was a very rewarding and fun process to put together the booklet, and my local printer was able to quickly turnaround the job on a beautiful matte heavyweight paper that made the overall design pop and gave it a very professional look & feel.

All in all, I had a blast putting it together, and the best part was gifting it to my brother-in-law (along with some popcorn and a few Blu-Rays of films from the list). I was also able to gift some additional copies to friends, family, and some of my coworkers - I'll take any opportunity I can to spread the word about the value and beauty of foreign films!
